Governor Terrence McAuliffe commendation during the unveiling and dedication of State Senator Charles Colgan Monument on the George Mason University campus, September 25th, 2016.
“I wanted to be here for the unveiling of the statue. I have seen the statue. Its likeness is very close. As handsome as Chuck is … I think Robert Bricker … you have actually captured … Stand up, let’s give our sculptor a great round of applause. It’s a beautiful sculpture. And as Governor of Virginia, I am very proud. You Know, in our Capital, we have the only living statue done of George Washington. They had to go to France to get the sculptor, the famous sculptor Houdon. I’m so glad they got a Virginia resident to actually do Chuck Colgan’s statue. So we are very proud.”
